The Queen of spades danced the Duke of Earl,
With a full set of diamonds on.
She led a heart to her suitor's sleeve

(and suitors always leave,
But it went well with his red corsage).


[Earl:]
Well, I palmed that prize and in the blink of my eyes,
I was standin' at the top of the stairs,

Took a smile on down to the table
Down where I'm able
to cash in the fortune in my hand.


[Jack:]
But I'm Jack the Joker behind these shades,

and I dropped a deuce when I saw that trade,
One check of my vest,
I was packin' to play,

And now nobody leaves the room.

[Earl:]

Well, I stacked my chips and I licked my lips,
I settled back in my chair,
When up walked a stranger with a fistful of danger

squarin' to bunt for a hit on a dare.

Well, the cards were dealt 'cross the cool green felt,

through the smoke that soaked the sound,
It looks for a while
like the earl's style of play,

Might even drag ol' Jackie-boy down.

But Baby Black Jack finessed the suicide king,

With a peg to the plate
It just might have been. . .
They were missin' three cards,

And there's a trick at large,
And now nobody leaves the room.


Well, the crowd gathered round as the din died down,
And the dealer, he held the gem in the air.
It was a twist to the golden rule

(he who has the gold, rules),
And with a smirk, he asked "Now how'd that get there?"


[Earl:]
"Well, the Ace of Diamonds is a cool card, kid,
It was close but I'm afraid you missed,

'Cause see, I'm the Earl, and I met this girl,
and she told me to give ya this."
Jack's the joker that pulled the shades,

On the cheatingt hearts and the greedy maids.

[Jack:]

I'd like you to meet the real Queen of Spades,
And now nobody leaves the room.
