THE DODGY BLOKES lyrics : "The Dark Side of Abergeldie"

Back in the first month of 2009,
Looking for a house with some friends of mine.

From agent to agent, from house to house,
It soon dawned upon us that we'd ran out of time.

We had to go private, we asked for advice,
We found a blue house for a pretty good price.
It had a sea view, it was massive inside,

It seemed almost perfect with nothing to hide.

(Chorus) The Dark Side of Abergeldie,

We lived there in our second year.
There was so much wrong when we first moved in,
And we always used to hide from our landlord, Emyr.

Our landlord Emyr seemed fine to a degree,
"I'm willing to work with you if you work with me."

He said 75 quid a week with no bills,
Not bad for a house that has no frills.

On our first day there we sat on the stoop,
Eating our noodles and drinking some soup.
Wearing bandanas and white stringy vests,

Our house really wasn't clearly the best.

(Chorus) The Dark Side of Abergeldie...

We had no electric, no heating or gas,
When the weekend was over they were back on at last.

The ba!@&(t was gloomy, so dark and dull,
The bath filled with sewage until it was full.

The toilet kept blocking, the plumbers were called,
The smell was horrendous they were really appalled.
Then we caught swine flu, confined to our beds,

And all we now wanted was Penbryn instead.

(Chorus) The Dark Side of Abergeldie...

(Chorus) The Dark Side of Abergeldie,
We enjoyed our second year.

There is still much wrong since we first moved in,
And we still love to hide from the landlord, Emyr.
