I used to think that life was like a puzzle, a bunch of pieces waiting to be discovered, one-by-one, each bringing me closer to completing the image of what I knew my life would be. Well... That's what I used to think.

Over the years I've come to realize that life's journey is not made up of precut pieces in a two dimensional frame. And more often than not, it's complicated and things aren't always what they seem.

When I was young things changed in my home, financial pressures led to raised voices and the decision to head west. We crossed the Pacific Ocean not having a home, or any direction at all... Uncertainty was our reality.

When my dad finally found a job, he was on a flight by the end of week then back and forth for a couple years. The times when he was around, there was so much that needed to be said, but no one was talking.

Music is not simply black and white keys under my fingers; it's no longer just notes on a page. Every time I step on stage, it's my heart, my hope, my life, my soul. I know I can't do this alone, but with you here next to me; I won't ever play this piano solo.
