Slowly it etches, jagged cracks appear
The face of a lion, the sum of my fears
As I walk it grows, steadily erupting

Glacier teeth from its mouth
Spawning clouds make up its mane
From all the hate I try to redirect

From all the pain I don't let affect
My stone face, its like the mountain is me
Solid to the eye, but melting underneath

Callous and numb, I make my ascent
Up this volcanic slope I try to pretend
That I'm just indifferent

Meanwhile the rage is overflowing
Climbing higher to reach the summit

The misery that dwells in me
Wrath flowing through every vein
I feel the knot begin to tie

Internal pressure starts to rise
Fangs of temper bite my chest
With crushing jaws they overwhelm

The lava, the angst, the eruption
My uphill battle ensues
I push the boulder just to watch it roll

Amongst the smoldering flames below
Cursed by my own despair
I try to leave it and trudge on
