SCYNIKAL lyrics : "Child of the Culture"
Sometimes I feel this hip-hop is all I have/
I work a nine to five then I fall right back/
Into writing like this Hip-Hop is all I have/ x2
I try not to go off of topic whenever speaking to 'em
Usually the topic is microscopic and evil humans/
I stay too focused on what I'm supposed to be up doing/
To fall asleep, so follow me through a dreamers movements
Honestly, alcohol and weed often keeps me moving
Probably result of the policy on the streets I grew in/
Free and stupid but love the beats that we keep producing
Hip-hop had the older heads wondering what the teens were doing/
Bombing trains, so you can see colour schemes improving
When it's going by you, it's either fly or the piece was useless/
Break dancing until the balls of your feet are bruising
If you ain't dancing, you stood in awe watching people do it/
Became a child of the culture within a week or two it
Started sinking in at the hip-hop parties police would ruin/
Seen it all through the VCR, and the T.V. tubage
Now you'll see me through it, got love for y'all, I just need the music/
It's all I have,
Sometimes I feel this hip-hop is all I have/
I work a nine to five then I fall right back/
Into writing like this Hip-Hop is all I have/ x2
Always wanted a pair of overalls,
That was the style at the time, I put that out of my mind I couldn't afford it y'all/
Or the cross-colors, can't forget that/
Then Malcolm dropped, at least we had an "X" hat
And the freshest cuts like high-tops and newly bought
Word Up magazines, right by the music box/
I thank Randy for getting us introduced to that/
Rest in peace my dude, wherever you be at/
I know you're up there in heaven hearing the newest tracks
With Heavy D, your energy exiting through the hugest laugh/
Remember the running man, when we were doing that?
And no one had more multi colored shoes than Patrick Ewing had/?
This game's amazing man it changes with the weather
'Member when the AMA's was like the greatest thing ever/?
It don't matter if I blow or get discovered/
I still hold on to the wonder, 'cause I'm just a child, growing with the culture/
(Hook x 2)
