We see the poor and hungry

Asking us to feed

So we quench our desires for a day
Ramadan has arrived

Try to feel what they go through
And see how they survive


So we fast, everyday
So we fast, from dawn to dusk
So we fast, in Ramadan

So we fast, for the lord
In our hearts we pray for thee...


Do not allow Satan
To invade your mind
Command yourself to awaken

Rid yourself of the binds
Control your want
You shan't give in

For Satan shall haunt
What lies within
Sun-up to sundown

Control and restrain
In blessings you drown
Limitless rains of faith


Fasting gives us a chance
To better our spiritual stance

So we can achieve just one glance
Of our lord
To conceal our worldly desires

And our inner fires
Fasting is a practice
That our faith requires


The essence of fasting
A break from what's short lasting

Focus on our eternal soul
And a spiritual whole
For what shines on forever

Is our love for our god
Never ending ever lasting
Evermore Awed
