I've traveled the road for so long
Picked up some bumps and bruises on the way
I've tried to separate the right from wrong

In spite what the world might say
But I've found myself many times
Broken Down by the side of the road

I've looked for help from passers by
But none were willing to carry the load


I'm tired
Tired from all the rain
Tired from all the pain

You can see it in these eyes
I'm tired
Tired from all the fighting

From being struck by lightening
From hoping the sun will rise


Well it feels sometimes I've been to hell and back
Sometimes it's hard to weather the storm
I've come up short on the skills I lack

To build a shelter to keep me warm
We can't all be winners I know
But sometimes it would be good to not be last

We might all be saints or sinners
But not be condemned by the past


Now don't misunderstand me
I'm not one to give up and not fight
But it's hard to keep the wolves from the door

If they sneak in during the night
Now they can tear you up real bad
Some of the wounds may never heal

But what really makes me so sad
Is the precious moments in life they steal
