I saw Jesus yesterday
down at the station
He was waiting on a train

I was only waiting
The sky looked like rain
the clouds rolled with thunder

as I looked away
I heard a voice from under my breath


said boy you wanna ride with me
you gotta believe this train is coming
I couldn't see

but I could hear the engines running

politicians preach; preachers walk on fire

just outside I reach my true heart's desire
souls weep; reach for a ground that's higher
we could all gather on this hill

but there's no guarantee we'll stay dry there
