MATT PRIDGEN lyrics : "Presence Poetry Slam (Jesus Rap)"

VERSE 1
Enter into a new paradigm
So I find I'm shifting gears

My whole concept of time
at sea that night
HE reached down from on high

And opened my eyes and plainly said
It's time in kind to realign
And search much deeper within

Past this exterior of sin
Beyond this soldier of tin
To where my heart meets the wind

Then I grin akin to the smile on your face
Without a trace of hate
I deeply implicate my fate is in good hands

Down with the master plan
I can't take it further than that
So I sit back and relax

Chillin' out max
Bouncin' your attacks
Off spirit-plated armor

Built much stronger
Than your fake shapes
Your substitute substrates

They crumble like a piece of cake
Don't even try your alibi
It can't save your eternal soul

Because our destiny
Is in the hands of the one
Who made the earth

Jesus Christ the nazarene

VERSE 2

As my eyes absorb the grace of
The rise of a new day
I escape to a place

Unbound by 3-D limit-a-tions
A drifting wonderland
All mysterious and planned

Unfolding from His hand
You know his flavors never bland
When GOD came as a man...

Left Heaven with the eyes
He fixed on redemption
Jesus Christ, He walked the earth

Righteous incarnation...
Lived a perfect life and
Turned the tide and

Swallowed up sin
No imperfection...
Could be found in Him

Poured out and broken...
Executed on a cross as
Our substitution

He laid down His life
And then picked it up again
So that not a soul would

Have to face separation
He's the gift of God, man,
Can you explain this exchange?

He died in our place
And then rose up from the grave
All so that he...

Could give us...life eternally
Too good to believe?
Well, that's the gospel to a tee

And truth be told...
There's no place I'd rather be
Cause ... you know

He stays close to me
I see his goodness in my life
Everywhere I be

VERSE 3
In my life I see God's hand

Protecting his children
Understanding that he's good
Ain't gonna question that again
But this weight...
As of late it feels like it's

too much for me to take
Grinding down my soul
Waitin' for the straw to break
This camel's back...
How'd it get to be this bad

And what's it gonna take
For me to laugh again
Dad, I'm on my knees at last
Again my pride broke
My stride and sat by

As I went tumblin past
Despite noblest intentions...
I simply tried to do it all
And threw a wrench in...
My order far too tall

And too ambitious...
Flash back far from home,
Yet another ... prodigal episode
So if fixin's not my task
Why's my mind always catch
A whiff of misery as it passes

I'll give you back my
Rose colored glasses
Cause I know you want me to take
A moment out of my day
And sit with you away and trust
That it's all gonna be ok
And with you back at the helm

Peace now surrounds
As colors mix and meld
The sunrise shows you off so well
