Standing equipped
Indian paintbrush clenched in my hand
Eyes remain alert

Ivy vines creeping to pull me down
But the grass pushes me skyward
Away from the skeletons dancing below

And the rain flows backwards
Floating me higher
Above the shadows

Oh the wind'll blow ya down
Keeping you buried in the ground


I'm a monarch butterfly
Ink blotted but still alive
I was tied to the hollow tree

But the blackbirds set me free

Bones turn to stone

Melodic songbirds revive my soul
Swallowed body and all
Demons drowning down in the sinkhole

But the rocks roll my feet forward
Erasing the trail I'm leaving behind
And the stars keep a record

Of things that will never leave my mind
Oh the wind'll blow me there
Moving me to land somewhere
