JUN HONG lyrics : "Leaving Stuy"

I've been here for 4 years, now that's a long time but if I think about it, it's gone by pretty fast,
So I compiled a little list of all of the little things I will miss whether they be good times or bad,
I will miss all of my classes, all of my classrooms, all of the programs, and some of my teachers,

I will miss staying up past 2 AM doing homework and then waking up at the crack of dawn,
I will miss studying for hours for a test, then sitting down, getting the scantron and the test paper and having no idea what the hell the questions are asking,
I will miss the joy I feel when I walk into class and I see either a television or a substitute teacher in front of the room,

I will miss senioritis and hardly doing any work at all,
I will miss getting my ID confiscated which is the absolute worst possible thing that could happen to you,
I will miss those mandatory grade meetings in the auditorium that I've never been to,

I will miss the thousands and thousands and thousands of Asians attending this school,
I will miss the amazing, great, almighty, loving, beautiful warning bell,
I will miss cutting class - just kidding,

I will miss going on class trips -- all one of them, and I will miss about all the 5 times I've actually gone to homeroom,
I will miss trying to get to the 5th floor and finding out that the 3 to 5 escalator is broken, so I make elaborate plans like going back to the 2nd floor and then taking the 2 to 4 then 4 to 6 and then walking down one floor,
I will miss getting kicked off any floor that's not the first, second, or the fifth,

I will miss gym class -- oops, sorry, I meant Physical Education,
I will miss the half floor, the sophomore bar, the senior bar, and the big LED screen on the second floor,
I will miss A-days, B-days, and especially D-days,

I will miss getting yelled at by my parents when they found out they had to come in to pick up my confiscated phone,
I will miss senior year, junior year, sophomore year, and even, even, even freshman year -- well, no, not really,
I will miss how my schedule seemed to be messed up every single term and I had to wait for hours after school for my guidance counselor to fix it,

I will miss sharing lockers, changing in the Hudson staircase, and sneaking in food from Fake Terry's,
I will miss student deals, student discounts, and student Metrocards,
I will miss spirit days and Halloween and prom proposals and being greeted by A capella singing Christmas Carols in December,

I will miss girls that I've always wanted to approach but I was too shy to do it,
I will miss the tokers forcing administration to lock the bathroom on every damn floor that I go to,
I will miss people constantly mistaking me for a freshman because I apparently have a youthful exterior,

I will miss SING!, oh my goodness, you have no idea how much I'll miss that, quite possibly the best time of the year,
I will miss SING! afterparty, and not being let in because they're over capacity
I will miss April Open Mic when Elijah asked Allison to Prom,

I will miss all the Open Mics and watching all these talented people perform,
I will miss Benjamin Koatz telling me to hurry up when I go over 3 minutes,
I will miss rapping for the Jeremy Lin video and all the hate we received by the media from it, which is, you know, no big deal, 'cause I can take criticism, but all those bloggers can go straight down to Hell,

I will miss all the stress and frustration and depression that this school has put me through,
I will miss all the friends that I've made here, and I only regret not getting to know all these wonderful people that I could have had potential friendships and experiences with,
And I could go on and on and on but it's weird, because I kinda wish I could be an incoming freshman again so that I could have all of these great opportunities,

But then again I'll be graduating soon and be leaving this place forever and moving on to the next stage of my life,
And I might even cry because it's taken me so long to realize that despite all the horrible things, what a wonderful place this actually is,
I will really miss this stupid, stupid, stupid school
