JOSH WALKER lyrics : "The First Take"

As I caught up on my daily music news, only one announcement seemed to matter. Following an incredible performance at the MTV Video Music Awards, Justin Timberlake released the updated track-list for The 20/20 Experience Part 2 of 2. Only two artists are featured, which did not come as a surprise after the track-list for first part of the album. Jay Z will again be featured, on a track titled 'Murder'. It will be interesting to hear what direction the legendary duo chooses to take after the summer anthem 'Suit & Tie' and the slightly darker 'Holy Grail'. The title, 'Murder' doesn't exactly fit into the typical Justin Timberlake album, however it does leave room for some anticipation and suspicion. I believe this track will cement the success of Hov and JT as a combo. I mean, it just wouldn't be right for me to expect anything less.
However, the true anticipation and excitement came along when I read that October's Very Own, Drake is to be featured on track number three which is titled 'Cabaret'. The title places the image of Drake in the strip club throwing ones (King of Diamonds style) while the song is played in the background. This is not exactly JT's scene; sure he has made night club hits with 'Suit & Tie' as well as 'Take Back the Night' but Justin in KOD? I just don't see it. But that is the beauty of these two collaborating, they will complement each other and use their versatility to create a must hear. As a fan, I hope for Drake to sing and also spit a sixteen, but that will ultimately be up to JT and the production crew. I'm picturing a slightly more uptempo 'Shut it Down' type of track that will speak to women's self esteem and allow guys to let their girl know exactly how they feel. Until then, there is only speculation. Just be prepared for 'Cabaret' to be the love song of the fall that will go hand in hand with cuffing season.

Til Next Time,

JW
