A man came up to me
Gave me paper and a pen

... next to no time

Or why he was picking on me
I guess he didn't know
That I was tired at school

And bored of poetry
So I played along
... full of yawn

Perhaps he was wrong in the head
And when I woke I found a note
And this is what it said:

Now I'm married and I have two kids
And I sing songs all the time
My 4-year old just makes them up

sometimes with explanatory mind
And no one has told her that it's difficult yet
That isn't in her head

So we sing her song every evening long
And write untill it's time for bed
