I went to a magic show I didn't plan to go
But it was one night only So I went anyway
It was fluff and simple stuff, nothing I didn't know

But there was one thing that made me stay
The magician really blew me away
I'd like to say I'm under her spell, but it's too cliche

And I'd like to say that I am well, but I am not today
But I fall into this trance where I think I should tell her everything
The world fades into smoke and mirrors and I break out and sing

We pass I say, "Hey trixie, how you doing today?"
She says "Hey I'm doing okay" And I say "That's great!"

I say "whatcha doing saturday, would you maybe wanna go do something
We could go out to eat, or maybe go for a walk, I can't speak and I eat my words right off my plate


She's so great and powerful and I'm now in such a rush
That I can't stop to think to keep my words from turning into mush
And she just smiles and nods her head

While I stumble over simple words and wish that I was dead
