I took a trip into space last night
left a note, and then launched at midnight
waved goodbye and then hitched a ride

on a lonely satellite

I took a picture of the milky way

then asked the stars if they'd like to play
I thought to myself that I could stay
and just soak up the sun all day


Constellations, international space stations
I wish I could spend all of my time


Out in the galaxy it could be just you and me
we'd escape earth's atmosphere, and nobody could find us here

we'd spend each night, under starlight
we'd run away and make a brand new home in space


When I got back from my stellar field trip
I just missed all the other planets
went to bed, and I only dreamt

of visiting again

I miss the warmth of those solar flares

waiting patiently to get back there
soon I'll trade all this boring air
for the solar wind in my hair
