He stands on a precipice, peering into the light
What looks back is nothing like he's ever seen
A murky creature seeping in and out of life

The phantom human beckons across the ravine

With no words exchanged, a gesture is offered

Cross the verge, stand upon the other side
His ghostly hand extended, his visage is altered
The man now treads across the deadly divide


Silently, in the dark
Floating in the abyss

Suddenly, in the light
Falling through the oculus


Splendor of color
Senses congested
Kneeling before the

Ultimate watcher

Ripped from the

Consciousness
Draining emotions
Awake to see it perish


With his eyes wide he begins to panic and cry out
How unfair!

To be stripped from such a perfect state.
I must return, I cannot concentrate!


These thoughts consume
Every waking breath
Anxious amid doom

Remembering paradise

The second night left him with despair,

unable to return, sorrow filling his heart
With anger he tried to reopen the portal,
but to no avail, he consistently fails

And with no recourse he weeps until he gently falls to sleep,
seeing the ghost and then
Heartlessly the wraith speaks aloud

you are never to return again

Mortified at this rejection, at a loss for words

Maniacal; he will never witness that paradise again

Nothing to salvage, nothing to love,

all which he asks for, to go back above
No reason to remain, no binding to home,
hanged in the forest, dying all alone
