My mind is like the water
Reflecting who I am
Proverbially so disturbing

As I read it out of my hand

If I think in certain trails

That every thought can learn to sail
I'm leaving patterns on the canvas of this self


The pool is stirring as I lean and take it in
Looks like a stranger but it's actually who I am
What was I thinking, for too long preoccupied

What I thought was from outside, was lurking deep within

Reflections can be misleading

Portraying the reverse
Comforting though it would be
In this case it is for worse






For I have thought in certain trails
So many thoughts have learned to sail

Leaving patterns on the canvas of this self

If I don't break new ground in these next few steps

I'll never go where I could have been

If I don't like what I see then I know it's not long

I'm becoming what I wasn't meant to be

I've gotta change my mind and let you change my mind
