As I step out the door and open my eyes,
I turn the corner and cars dance around me.
Each step becomes more difficult

as my body starts to shake.
My shortened breaths are visible,
and they leave me begging for more.


They're painful and deep,
piercing my mind like the winter wind against my face.


"I'm dreaming, aren't I?"
These walls are closing in.

The sky is crashing down.

Take me from this place that I go to in my head.

I don't want to be here anymore.

Here I am: back at the start, but no one gives a $#&@.

The staple in my chest is becoming unbearable.

There's nothing more that I would like than to see this place fall apart.

How many hours have passed?

Every moment, clear as day.
But time just races by.
All of these sleepless nights haunt me.

I look to the sky for an answer.
The clouds begin to light up like stars.


As the sun rises my mind is racing,
but I welcome these cracks in my lungs.
Blood vacates my fingers, leaving them numb.

My own sun to bury, my collapse to loathe.

At least this dirt is my own.
