And the name of this Guy
Was Zeus.


But the problem was, he had so many kids
That people just can't get the names to stick
So we put them all together in this little old song

Dardanos, Heracles, Dionysus, Epaphus
Rhadamanythus, Heracles, Minos and Harmonia
Hermes. Kairos and Persephone


But let's not forget Helen, Kytos
Tantalos, Makedon, Perseus, Zeothos

The Nymphia Themides, Zagreos, Apmphion
The Palikoi Orion and Polydeukes


The Kharites, Hephaistos and the Horai
Aspos, Ersa, Eris, Nemea, Pan
The Litia, Panedia, Phasis

Argos, Krinakos, Iarabas, Endymion
And the list just goes on and on...


Athena's birth is a great story to tell
Due to the trouble her mum, Metis, befell.
Zeus was told that he should swallow her whole;

as Metis's grandkids could steal his throne
but when Zeus did this, to his great surprise,
an awful headache made him roar at the skies

Hephestus split his skull open with his axe
And out sprang Athena like a jumping Jack!

Artemis and Apollo were two of a kind

Twins of Leto, whom Hera wanted to die.
Hera kept her in labour for nine days
Until relenting due to other God's praise

Clever Artemis, the first to be born
Acted as midwife as her brother came forth
Apollos's birth, heralded by sacred swans

They both grew up to be fast and smart and strong.

Dionysus is the son of Semele
His mother burned when she looked at the fair

Visage of the true form of mighty Zeus
Tricked into looking, by Hera's falsehoods
Zeus did manage to rescue her unborn son

Sewn into his thigh, until his growing was done
Born from Zeus, Dionysus was fine
And became the god of fertility and wine
