I saw her sitting across the room
at a table for two
she had her best boots on

I didn't stand a chance
but I asked her to dance on the next slow song
as the band started playing

I got a different feeling as I looked in her eyes
everybody dancing around us
began to fade away

and I reached to grab her hand
as she was walking off the floor

she turned to look at me and boy she couldn't believe
that I would ask for one more
so we stayed out on the hardwood

dancing like I never could
man I was impressed
I had to get to know this girl

in her white sun dress

I saw a smile in her eye
