Andre was discovered on the Australian television talent show New Faces in 1990. In 1992, he was signed to a record company and released his debut song "Drive Me Crazy",which reached number 72 in the Australian chart. Though it didn't do very well, it was only a matter of time before Peter hit the big time with "Gimme Little Sign" which peaked at number 3, and lasted 31 weeks on the official ARIA Charts.
