Mraz's perpetual optimism ? displayed to its sweetest effect on the 2008 hit I'm Yours ? is even more pronounced here. Written in the aftermath of a relationship, its 12 songs percolate with hope ? Living in the Moment even starts with whistling. The surprise is that it's pretty palatable. Lyrically, Mraz may be all fluffy towels and soft blankets, but he pairs his words with a variety of genres that show him to be a cracking musician. This is pure, undemanding pleasure: his voice has a natural affinity with elegant lounge-jazz (on 5/6) and introspective folk-blues (I Won't Give Up), as well as the delicately hewn soft rock that made his name.
